The Buzz

During this campaign, the buzz word has been technology – “Prop 87 will invest in clean, affordable alternatives to fossil fuels by investing in new and existing industries; and technologies that will benefit all Californians.” Today I got a sense of what that could mean.  I saw some incredible test vehicles, including a plug-in hybrid.  After the event event today, it is easy to imagine that one day soon, I could be stuck in traffic on a LA freeway without the hazy exhaust emissions from so many gasoline vehicles.

I don’t know how long it will take for these new alternative-fuel vehicles to be mass marketed, but I do know Proposition 87 includes incentives to help speed that along and bring them to market faster.  With all these innovative vehicles models comes an opportunity for increased job opportunities as engineers and scientists continue their ground breaking research into new technologies.  If we were to believe the opposition, Prop 87 will take money away from California. Not true.  Prop 87 will invest in California; creating cleaner air, affordable clean energy alternatives and increased job opportunities.
