How do producers transfer energy from the sun into chemical energy?
I need an answer like u would answer for a test to see if u need to go to summer schoo. In Ohio that is called an OAT test.
Answer: producers are plants that can photosynthesize.
sunlight energy is absorbed by chlorophyll a and b and other photosynthetic pigments where photons of light are used excite (gain energy) electrons.
these then pass down and electron tansport chain (you dont need to know what this is) and as a result release an ATP molecule, this is a unit of energy made up of an adenosine group, a ribose sugar and 3 phosphate groups (dont need to know these in detail).
carbon dioxide + water>>>>>>>>>>>>> glucose + oxygen
sunlight+
chlorophyll
